I can’t believe where the day has gone! It’s already 2.30pm here and I’ve accomplished a lot. Washing has dried out on the line in record time, I’ve finished the ironing and it’s all put away. The upstairs bedrooms, landing and bathroom are all hoovered and cleaned and dusted! Bathroom is clean and tidy. Rosie’s bedroom is clean and I’ve moved her bookcase onto the landing..dusting and sorting out books at the same time, I moved her chest of drawers and now it looks a lot less cluttered…kind of getting ready for when Eldest daughter comes home in June
The kitchen is clean and tidy, and I feel good when I look at what I’ve accomplished, despite my slightly aching feet!

I really enjoy going each year to the LWC. I regard it as a short holiday it’s so good! The Lord has really encouraged me the last four years in my God-given role of wife, mum and home-maker. Here’s a link to the new video….http://www.christianconventions.org.uk/lwc/news/

Last night I called my friend Linda all the way over in the United States! Linda, it was a blessing to me to be able to talk to you directly! I hope you understood my accent Linda! I think the folk who live down in the sourthern most parts of the United States have such a beautiful way of talking. It did my heart good to hear you Linda and to know that you are praying for me and my family, thankyou! Your friendship means so much to me! I ‘met’ Linda over at Titus2 Christian Homekeepers (just google it and you’ll find it, I have no idea how to do a link directly
). This is a most marvellous place where I have been inspired by God to look after my home and family in such a servant like manner! Before I ‘found’ this site I really disliked housework and everything to do with being at home full time and looking after the family….I had believed the lie that being a housewife was a menial, degrading thing to do in this day and age of women’s liberation.
Ladies, I can tell you that it is such a gift and a tremendous blessing to be able to care full time for my family. I know that some women have to go back to work, and God understands that, but it’s the message that we have all been deceived with , the message that somehow you are not complete if you don’t have a job as well as being a mum and a wife. Well, since God has led me to Christian Homekeepers, I have been blessed immeasurably. Linda is one such godly woman, loving wife she is and a great mom to her wonderful children..I tell you her whole family is a testimony to how great our God is! If you look at my blogroll, you will find other women who believe the way I do! The Christian Homekeeper is Sylvia and with Traci from Traci’s Christian Cottage came together and this web-site was the result! Ladies you truly stir me up!!
There is a wealth of knowledge on this site and I would encourage you to go and check it out! I wish I had room for more blogs but that requires extra money and I just don’t have that at the moment!
Have a blessed weekend!

I have to say it…I’m a bit fed up….with the choice of backgrounds from Word-Press! I need something feminine and maybe girly..not sure, but I get fed up with the same old plain boring ones! I like to have a change..frequently! If it’s changing my sofas around in my living room or rearanging the kitchen a little, I CRAVE change! Am I alone in this? Let me know if you’re some-one who is happy for things to stay the same, or likes to whizz things up a bit and go mad..esp in the area of your home!

400g (14oz) white chocolate
400g plain chocolate
150g (5oz) crunchy peanut butter
1. Grease and line a 20.5×30.5×2.5cm (8×12x1in) tin.
2. Melt the white chocolate in a heatproof bowl over a pan of simmering water, making sure the base doesn’t touch the water. Stir until smooth, then remove from the heat. Melt the plain chocolate in the same way and remove from the heat.
3. Add the crunchy peanut butter to the white chocolate and stir well until smooth.
4. Drop alternate spoonfuls of each chocolate into the preapared tin, then tap th etin to level the mixture. Drag a skewer through both chocolates to create a marbled effect.
5. Tap the tin again to level the mixture, then chill for 2-3 hr until firm. Turn out on to a board and use a sharp knife to cut the rectangle into 10 fingers, then cut each finger into eight pieces. You can pack into boxes, layering up between baking parchment and store in the fridge for up to a month.

This was an excellent read and I’m posting it here for you to enjoy as well!
Here are some aspects of “home” found in Scripture, posted by Lydia from The Purple Cellar. The makings of a good book, I think!
God designed home to be . . .
1) A place to flee from trouble (1 Sam. 4:10; 2 Sam. 18:17)
2) A place to be happy (Deut. 22:2)
3) A place for marital joy (Deut. 24:5; Ruth 1:9; 2 Sam. 17:3)
4) A place for hospitality (1 Kings 13:15; Acts 16:15)
5) A place for rest (2 Sam. 4:5)
6) A place of safety (2 Sam. 19:30)
7) A place of peace (1 Kings 22:17; 2 Chron. 18:16)
A place to rejoice in the Lord (2 Chron. 7:10)
9) A place to avoid sin (2 Chron. 25:19)
10) The domain of a godly woman (Prov. 7:11)
Home is something God gives to . . .
1) Those who are alone (Ps. 68:6)
2) The barren woman (Ps. 113:9)
3) Birds (and all creatures) (Ps. 84:3; 104:17)
Home is our body . . .
1) The flesh-house of our soul (2 Cor. 5:1-2)
2) A dwelling for the Holy Spirit (1 Cor. 3:16)
Home is built by . . .
1) Wisdom (Prov. 9:1; 14:1; 24:3)
2) Righteousness (Prov. 15:6)
“The homes we have in this life are designed to give us a foretaste of our final, permanent home -heaven.” Lydia Brownback

Someone over at http://t2chk.org/new/ posted on personal appearance. I haven’t replied as I gave up a long time ago in that department. I think it all went pear-shaped once the kids were born; having a child that vomited over you frequently after feeding kind of stopped you wearing anything nice. I guess the pattern was set even when the children got bigger. Suffering from depression for quite a few years also had an effect. When I became a Christian, yes, I was SAVED by God’s amazing grace but what had that to do with clothes and how you looked? I make sure I am clean, my clothes are clean so that should be enough! I know God looks at my heart instead of the outside so again, I ask myself, why is it necessary to look a certain way? Having a husband who feels the exact same way about clothes also makes it easier not to bother to dress a certain way. I know that my eldest daughter despairs over my attitude to clothes, but then she is young and her appearance is important to her, as it was to me and especially when I was a working single girl! (I have promised to wear shoes, a skirt or dress and tights, in other words more feminine looking for her graduation ceremony). I know that’s important to her. I do wonder why this is not important to me, maybe I’m just a slob stuck in my ways.
